    Hi!

We are currently upgrading to EE2 and I’ve noticed a peculiar problem in our testing.

On our current live site (1.6.8) we have added query string params to our weblog URL’s for tracking purposes.

    Example:
    http://www.carsguide.com.au/site/news-and-reviews/car-news/nissan_leaf_electric_arrives_in_aus?origin=hpc2

The above works fine in the current site (you can try it), but in our dev version in EE2 that same URL is failing with a 404 error unless we remove “?origin=hpc2”.

Any idea why this would happen and what to look for?

    EE2 v2.1.3 build 20101220

    cheers!

Have a look at this thread: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/184986/

FYI, I know it’s only a little thing, but the forum search form does an excellent job of finding some of this stuff. It can take me a couple of re:phrases to get an appropriate result but well worth the effort.

Not relevant to my problem. We already know how to parse the data.

Problem is the 404 Error which is totally breaking the site.

    cheers (:

Would “strict URL’s” be a contributing factor ?

Also Mark had success with this:

I stress try changing the uri_protocol in system->expressionengine->config->config.php to the other settings, all of which gave me loads of errors so to that end I reverted it back to AUTO which is where it was before I tried messing with that setting. Nothing else in the system, the templates or anywhere has changed but now it is working!!

I tried both settings for “Strict URLS” ( as explained here: http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/design/templates/global_template_preferences.html )

    - makes no difference.

    thanks!

    Cheif, thanks for the assist.
Hi, truthnews. Moving this over to the CodeShare Corner, since it really belongs there.
