Weirdness with SolSpace Tag module & images field (don't move me to CC yet, please)

    Hi, guys:

I know this thread is probably destined for CodeShare Corner, but it’s impossible to search for anything with the “tag” word in it for obvious reasons, and I thought some of you might have run into this.

I have SolSpace’s Tag module.  I have a pretty plain-jane channel, with a title, url, summary, body, image fields.  I have tried to implement Solspace’s tag module, and it will pop right up and work…except, when I do, the image upload field disappears.  Not the image field itself…but the upload option.  There’s no “Go,” basically.

I know that this is a module, and ergo, not an EE support issue…but I thought one of you Geeksters might have stumbled across this before, and hence might know what the heck is causing this; and I’ll post over there, too.

ALSO:  and this IS a support-type thing…for some bizarre reason, the “new” posts I try to make to that same channel have a boatload of categories (author names of actual book authors, not posters) pre-selected.  Not all; just SOME.  There is no reason for this to be occurring, it’s not a set default…any insights?  (and could this have anything to do with the tag module, also???, even though I no longer even have that tab appearing in the channel???)

    Thanks,
    Hitch

That issue is due to a glitch in DataGrab, I had the same thing happen to me.

It had to do with one of the category tables having a value of zero in it, but I don’t offhand recall which one. Does that sound familiar at all?

As far as the Tag module is concerned, I’ve not used it, so have no real advice there.

Uhhhh….......category table with a value of zero?  Not only does that not ring a bell, but I’m not sure I’m even in the bell tower.  How would I find this?  And if I uninstall DG, will this thing stop attacking my category list?

    Thanks, Sue!!

EDITED TO ADD:  By the way, folks—a “select all” feature, or a multi-select feature, to DE-select categories would be really spiffy.  Or to delete a boatload of categories—or anything like that.  Just sayin’....

No, uninstalling it won’t help. Check your email in a few minutes.

    Hi, Hitch.

    Here is the problem:

DataGrab added 37 bad lines into your exp_category_posts table with the entry_id of 0.

Now if you attempt to add an entry to your Converted Book channel, no categories are assigned.

As far as the Tag thing goes, let’s bring Solspace in for that one. Deal?

Deal.  Of course, I’ve posted over at Solspace, but that’s like Waiting For Godot.  At least now I can continue my labors of conforming my imported site, and keep my posts updated without it being a major (bigger) disaster.

Sue:  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Oh!  and thanks for turning me on to CE Images.  It does rock.

Awesome, Hitch. I’ll close this one since we can’t support Tag, but please don’t hesitate to start a new thread as necessary.
