Wondering what everyone suggests as the best way to “classify” an article?

    For instance:

Multiple channels (different types of articles)
Each channel has its own custom channel field group assigned
Each channel has the custom status group “workflow” assigned (this allows members to submit, but only editors to publish)

We would like for editors to have the ability to classify an article as a “top story” that when classified, this article (title, author and any other desired field) could be shown in an area on the home page entitled…“Top Stories”.

At this point we are having trouble doing this…not sure the easiest way to accomplish this task.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

There isn’t a “best” way but any of the methods you mention would work, you could also use a category group as well.

Statuses are probably the most straightforward way…
