I’m setting up Simple Commerce on a site for a client who makes and sells sleepwear, so all of her items have sizes (Children’s S, M, L and Adult S, M, L and XL). The site was designed with the thinking that the user would just select the size they want from a dropdown and then click the ‘Add to cart’ button. However, it seems SimpleCommerce doesn’t allow for that and doesn’t make use of the additional info fields that PayPal provides.

Is there really no other way to do something like this other than having every single size be an individual entry? This seems like quite the oversight from the part of the module’s developers…

I found this blog post that has a possible solution to this, but it’s all relating to EE 1.5. Could anyone maybe help me find a way to do the same thing with EE 2?

There’s no reason my original example couldn’t be upgraded to work with EE2. You’d pretty much just have to replace weblg with channel and instead of the multi-relationship add-on I used which is only available for EE1, you could use either Multi Relationships for EE2 or possibly Playa.

That said, you might also want to look at Cartthrob as it’ll give you a lot more flexibility with price modifiers and options.
