    Hello,

Could someone please explain to me why / how when I look at an author’s profile in my forum, their “Total Forum Posts” can have a total # of 7, but if I do a search for that author, the results say that this person authored 17 of the 22 posts?

    http://brunoboys.net/forum/search_results/6e44ef72f51ad848853cc3ef12708f3a/

In case the page expires, the author search was “banjoe”.

    Thanks in advance. 😊

Any help on this?  Do I need to post this in another Forum?

Hey BrunoBoys - moved this up to our technical support forum.

Are you looking at total posts and total replies?  They are separate, which might explain the disparity.

The search results don’t work since those links are limited in duration and not permanent. =)

Thanks Lisa. I included the member name as the original search term in case the search URL expired before anyone got to this post.

In case the page expires, the author search was “banjoe”.

To explain further, here is what I am looking at.

If I go to this person’s profile http://brunoboys.net/forum/member/31022/

I see a total forum post count of 7.

If I do an advanced search by member name for this particular member name “banjoe”, then I see a total of 22 results.

In the Topic Title column, I see the Author Name “Banjoe” on 17 of the 22 results.

This is showing me that Banjoe has authored a total of 17 posts. Not replied & authored, but originally authored 17 posts. However like I mention above, this member’s profile shows only 7 authored posts.

Please let me know if you need any other details from me.

    Thank you.

Hi, BrunoBoys - I see you’re using a modded version of the forum templates.. if you use one of the standard templates, does the problem still happen?

I have tried multiple templates & got the same results.

That was my first thought too. 😊

    Hey BrunoBoys,

That does look like more than 7 replies; sorry for missing that username in the original post.

If you do a recount on your site, does that help?  That’s in Admin > Utilities > Recount Statistics.

    Hey Lisa,

Sorry that took so long, we have a lot of members & I could only raise the recalculations up to 2000 at a time without timing out.

    Thanks for your help.

I didn’t know that option was there.

    Hi BrunoBoys,

So just to confirm, you’re getting accurate results now?

Sorry for the late response, but yes so far so good.

So far all the counts that we have checked have been accurate.

Thank all of you for your help!
