Hello, I’ve got my EE installed, I’ve created a channel and now I want to add an entry to that channel.  When I click the publish button I’m taken to the publish form, but the only fields available are “title” and “url title”.  I thought maybe I needed to make custom fields for the “content” of the entry.  So I went to admin -> channel administration -> custom fields and added some custom fields.  Returning to the publish form I expected to see the custom fields I created appear in the tool bar but they don’t.  So I can’t seem to actually create any content.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Have you linked the custom field group that you created to the channel? If you go to Admin->Channel Administration->Channels, go to the channel you just created and select “Edit Group Assignments”. You can select the field group you created in this screen in the “Field Group” Preference and select update. Maybe this will do the trick

Sweet!  That was it.  I thought there were some out of the box fields to actually create the content, but now I see how that works.  Thanks Trifecta!
