Ok, I am new to EE, and a user is experiencing an issue with posting new entries and the editing of an existing entry, basically none of her changes are being saved.  I have checked cookies, cleaned cache files, optimized and repaired the tables but this has not resolved the issue of user posting content to our website. The version of EE we are using is 1.6.9.  Lost please help!

    brownm,

    Welcome to the forums 😊

You are posting in the EE2.x support forums. I don’t see a licence attached to this username for EE1.x Can you confirm if it was purchased under a separate username?

Is this user a SuperAdmin or did you create another memebr group specifically for them to edit and create entries?
Are you using any third party add-ons?

When they submit in the control panel what happens. Does it goto a preview screen or do you get any errors?
    Are you using a htaccess?

    Thanks!

Yes, I did post to the wrong forum, however, that being said license information:  EE License Transfer {50655}.

I have not created a new member group but did make her an admin. but that has not resolved her issue with saving content.  Not sure about third party add-ons.  When the user submits content nothing happens, she clicks save but all content she enters just disappears.

Hi, brownm. If you log in as her, do you have the same problem? Is there any possibility she’s behind some sort of firewall?

When you go to Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Security and Session Preferences

what is set for Control Panel Session Type ? Try setting it to Cookies to see if that helps. There are other things we can change if she is still having issues..

Require IP Address and User Agent for Login?  Set that to No.

    Does that help?

I have changed the Control Panel Session to cookies only and set “No” to the IP Address and User Agent.  She still was unable to post content.  Hmmm, need to look into the firewall settings for her office location.

    brownm,

Ok have a look into the firewall situation if nothing turns up then we will take a deeper look at what may be happening.

Did you login as her to try it as Sue suggests?
