I am having trouble attaching a pdf file to an entry and cannot seem to pinpoint the issue.

I simply get an error message:

Study Guide – There was a problem uploading ‘d03356524dd002db71314e8f23a7d69d.pdf’.

I have tried attaching both a .pdf and a .docx

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Are permissions correctly set on the folder it is set to upload to? Setting them to 777 is a good bet.

    Hi CelebrationWeb,

As Kevin says, please make sure that your folder permissions are set correctly. Which version and build of EE are you using? How big is this PDF? Are you using any 3rd party extensions or modules in this site, specifically ones related to file upload and/or processing?

    Cheers

    Greg

EE V 1.6.4 - I am uploading directly via EE.

The PDFs are only at 176K and 200K.

    Thanks

    CelebrationWeb,

In your File Upload Preferences can you make sure you have set Allowed File Types to All file types

Admin > Weblog Administration > File Upload Preferences

Are you uploading as a SuperAdmin or a different member group?

Hi.  Yes, all my settings are set for All Files.  As far as I know I am a SuperAdmin.

    It is still not working.

Now it is saying that: The path specified in your image upload preferences is not correct.

    This path is correct.

If the path is correct, have you checked permissions as well? Make sure PHP can write there.
