Commenting for non-registered users (and they're all non registered) after upgrade to 1.7

I don’t have user accounts on my site, but suddenly, after an upgrade on Saturday night (from 1.6.7 to 1.7.0) non-users can no longer post comments. The bigger problem is that there isn’t any error given so that I could guess what the problem is.

At first I thought it was the captcha causing the problem so I turned that off. I have verified that “require membership to post comments” is set to no. I can post a comment if I am logged in, but no one else can, and the error reads:

    “The following errors were encountered

    Return to Previous Page”

(see screenshot - which is in Chrome, but all browsers are producing this for both PC and Mac)

Requiring accounts is not an option I’d like to pursue at this time. I’d rather solve why the site started doing this.

Where can I look to find an error that might indicate the reason for this issue?

    The site is http://www.metsgrrl.com/

    Thanks,

    Caryn

    metsgrrl,

Can you confirm you did a version upgrade as opposed to a build upgrade?

Can you share your comment form tags?

Thank you for your response. I absolutely did follow the version upgrade guidelines instead of the build upgrade guidelines.

I made the decision to implement Disqus instead of continuing to run the site without comments, since I was concerned that I wouldn’t ever be able to fix it, and I have narrow windows of time to work on my site. I’m not great with EE, and I have limited time in which to learn & code. Disqus solves a lot of the problems I had with EE comments, so it actually ended up being a good thing.

    Please mark the thread resolved.
