Hi there! Back with yet another dilemma.

I have read about in the User Guide all about this dynamic_parameters. Maybe I don’t know enough about Expression Engine to utilize it, but I really need it to finish up this project I am working on. In fact I am going to continue trying to get my head wrapped around it, but would welcome some assistance.

Basically what I have is a gallery. This gallery when you come to the page displays all the different sub galleries (entries). However, if you don’t want to view all those images on one page, I want a drop down “select” menu so they can view just the gallery they select. Also - if they come from one of the pages and only want to view that gallery the gallery would already be selected from the drop down and would only show the contents of that channel entry.

So what I’m wondering is if this is possible using the dynamic parameters - or if I should be using an alternate means. I really would like more documentation on explaining this dynamic_parameters too - some examples would be really helpful.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone out there would be able to help me get my head wrapped around this dilemma or present another feasible means of accomplishing what I am trying to do!

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

In the administration when you can filter your results of what types of pages you want to display - it should be really similar to that - and I can’t for the life of me figure it out!

    So frustrating.

yeah - I finally just decided to go with php - except now my issue is trying to run variables in the url - it moves it to the 404 page saying it isn’t there. I’m just trying to append /?id= and a number - but I have to figure out how to make this function right using ee.

Any help would be appreciated - course I will probably figure it out before anyone responds anyway.

Hi, Color-ize. Typically you’d use a segment to store this kind of information. Unfortunately I don’t have a really good example for using dynamic_parameters.. I’ll ask my co-workers if they have a better example. This may end up going to the CodeShare Corner, though.
