I could have sworn that I had this working.  When I go to a domain that I set up - the embed tags are visible -

ie:  page loads with: {embed="includes/masthead"} instead of the content

The system folder is set up correctly and I did fill in the assign_to_config variables.

What version and build of EE are you using? Do you’ve got a link to the site?

    I’m using 2.1.3

main page is working fine here:
    http://www.maplewoodonline.com

The site I’m trying to make work is here:
http://www.wonj.net - which I’m using as a test site right now.

The page that’s having the problems isn’t set as a static template is it?

    Best wishes,

    Mark

no it’s set as a webpage - just like the site above it is.  The template is pretty much a duplicate of the site above.

When I first transferred it over I didn’t change any of the site settings and the other page loaded fine - ie: wonj.net looked like maplewoodonline.com - then I went to revisit and it was broken like it is now.  Then I tweaked the site settings which obviously didn’t help either.

Is this using the MSM, or is this a completely separate install? Please try to reduce your new site/index as much as possible (a line of “lorem ipsum” will do) and make sure that displays fine. If it does, add one {embed}. Are you using any extensions?

Turns out I had a few required includes that were missing from my server which I didn’t realize would have affected the template tags.
