    Its a known bug and there is a hack that fixes it for some folks.

    It may be fixed in this new 2.1.4 beta.

    If it’s ok with you I will close out this thread as thebug has been fixed for beta? I will await your response though

    Hi there,
    I have the same problem…
    If I press the arrows, nothing happens…
    If I let them sort alphabetically, it won’t sort them alphabetically either?
    the template code is spitting out something inbetween 😕

    the hack described is not working for me, because I don’t find the code mentioned…

    I am on 2.1.3 Build:  20101220

    on line 105 I got the following code:

    $cat_array[$row['cat_id']]    = array($row['parent_id'], $row['cat_name'], $row['group_id'], $row['group_name']);

    but I think the fault must be here somewhere (line 94):

    ORDER BY group_id, parent_id, ".$order);

    I got a very unhappy client!
    hope somebody can help?!

    cheers
    stefan

    Have you read Kurt’s response? This is a bug that should be fixed in 2.1.4.

    Hi Stefan,

    I am afraid we do not offer support on hacks. The only option would be to use the 2.1.4 beta release for your client though it is not recommended for live sites.

    Regretfully,
    Barry

    Hi barry
    I really woudn’t call this a hack… really 😉
    I would call this a fix…
    so: do you offer support on “fixes”?

    Hi outline4,

    This issue is marked as fixed in the Beta and I can confirm that it is working in the Beta version 2.1.4. I encourage you to download that and test it locally. Looking at the beta version code on the line in question I see this:

    ->order_by('group_id, parent_id, '.$order, 'asc')

    Cheers

    Greg
