    Dear support,

How do we grant a security group the permission to change status (from “Closed” to “Open” for example) when editing or publishing an article? I’ve looked through the permission settings a few times and could not find the proper setting.

    Thank you.

Welcome to the ExpressionEngine forums, Point B.

Since you’re new to the EE forums, have you seen EEWiki:// How to Post a Support Request?

Normally you should post a version number when you ask for support - but in this case the problem has to do with how you set up your channel.

If you don’t assign a status group to a channel, only SuperAdmins can change status. Fix that problem, and all should be fine.

    Does that help?

Thanks Sue for your reply. Sorry for not specifying our EE version. Our version is: v2.1.0

I did check the status assignment for our Articles channel and confirm that the status is properly assigned to the channel. However, still only the sys admin can update the status. Please advise?

    Thank you

When you created your status group and your user group, was there a delay between the two?

See the attached screen shot, does your editor group have access to the Open status?

    Hi Sue,

Our editor group does have access to the open status (please see the attached screenshot). Any other ideas?

    thanks!

Can you confirm that your your channel actually has a status group assigned to it? Is it working as intended for Superadmins? You might also want to consider upgrading your version, a lot of bugfixes and improvements since 2.1.0.
