    Running 1.6.8

Having an issue with Google posting sensitive client info (phone numbers, etc.). Need it to stop.

    Hi Dave,
Something you have published on your site and would like to be kept private or ‘members only’?
ExpressionEngine does not really ‘publish’ anything from the CP…at least not out of the box.

    Hi Dave,

As lebisol says this must be because something is actually on an accessible template. Can you give us a little more information about what the problem is?

    Cheers

    Greg

No, it’s not information that I have put in a template. Member Profiles(Names, addresses, phone numbers)  are showing up in Google Search. I just now googled one of our members and I am seeing a direct link to their Member Profile page on our website.

Dave, do you have it set so guest can view member profiles?

I think that might be the key…they should not be able to. If they can, so can google.

CP Home ›  Admin ›  Members and Groups ›  Member Groups ›  Edit Member Group ›  Guests

It’s either that or something similar….

    Handyman is right:
CP Home ›  Admin ›  Members and Groups ›  Member Groups ›  Edit Member Group ›  Guests
    • Member Account Privileges
    Can view public profiles?
