split entries in different divs

hi,
i have created a template where i created 4 collums using divs,
and i want each div(col) to show one entry limiting the entries to the 4 recent entries per page.
each time i try to do this each col shows the same entry or each col shows all 4 entries.

im pretty new to EE and i don’t know how to fix this. any suggestions?

Use the offset parameter to have each column’s channel/weblog call show a different entry.
