I’ve been developing a website in EE and everything was working well for a couple of weeks until this morning. When I go to, http://localhost/ExpressionEngine_2_1_3/index.php the site no longer appears although the include header and footer templates appear. It’s just that the EE code is not running and populating the menu or page content.

In addition, if I add the Channel name of the after index.php/ in the URL, the site appears correctly and all the navigation and EE code works.

I’ve tried to make another Channel the “Dfault Group” but I’m having the same problem again.

The last functionality I was working on last night was exp:search:simple_form if that helps your diagnosis.

If you have any suggestions please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Steve

The issue seems to be corrected now. I went into Admin>General Configuration and change the “Name of your site’s index page” setting from “index.php” to “index.php/my_default_channel”. When testing, this restored the default home page URL but destroyed other links. After switching the “Name of your site’s index page” setting back to “index.php” everything seems to be working again. Very odd - but resolved.

    Thanks,
    Steve
