Hi Folks, what’s the first step of troubleshooting an internal server error.  I only get it when I try to activate pending members.  Clicking the link gives the following message:

    0
    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I am able to activate people manually, and all of the other links on the “Members and Groups” page are working.

    Any hints?

    Thanks!

Get full server error logs. 500 errors are so unspecific they’re useless. Luckily the logs usually have more details.

Not much to go by, really… are you using mod_security on your server?

Well, of course, when I finally post the issue to the forum, it fixes itself.  How mysterious.  I’ll never know why it did what it did.

Also - server logs?  That was strange.  I have no idea how to navigate those files - just a huge block of text.  And didn’t know where to look on my server for mod_security.

But never mind.  Unless it acts up again.  i shall let sleeping server logs lie.

    Thanks!
