We are using EE 2.x for an site that carries customer information.  My question is should you as best policy upgrade each time a new change version is issued, ie 2.1.2>2.1.3 etc etc.
Ideally I would do it only for security patches but is this misplaced?  Also does each upgrade incorporate all previous ones ie would ver 2.1.3 include changes from 2.1.2, 2.1.1

[Mod Edit: Moved to the EE 2 Technical Support forum]

We recommend that you stay relatively current with your version. When you are asking for support you’ll be asked about your version number, and the recommendation to upgrade is a common one. That said, if your site is working fine there is no urgent need to run the latest version at all times.

There is no upgrade version as such. When you download a fresh copy of EE it will incorporate all version released prior to it, yes.

Thank you Ingmar.  My main concern is to incorporate any security updates will it always be stated in the change log if this is the case?

Yes, security updates will be marked as such.
