Problem: I am not able to get through to the control panel having logged-in. The login stays on the login page.

I am hosted with EngineHosting and have recently added a new domain and set this domain as the primary domain for my EE installation. I have updated all of the URLs/paths in the CP to the new domain and checked the config files - all look good.

I have done this before with a different account with EngineHosting and everything went fine.
I am able to login OK with the previous domain path.

Is there a setting I may have missed?
Anyone know what this might be?

    Using EE 1.6.8

    Hey Britchie,

After you try to log in is the page just reloading with no errors or anything? If so, I think this may be a cookie/session issue. I’m not sure of the root cause but if you clear your cookies (or use a different browser) you should be able to log in OK.

If that works for you, you may want to go to Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Security and Session Preferences and set the two top options to “Cookies Only”, I have found in the past doing that helps to stop this bug from happening.

    Thanks Front.

Problem is now resolved - not sure whether this was simply a slow domain resolution issue or whether it was because I updated a small link I found in the settings to do with the cookies in Admin > System Preferences > Cookie Settings.

Glad to see it’s working now. Please don’t hesitate to post again in case there’s anything else.
