I just launched a site and I setup a Member group to just do content editing.  I have added all Channels to the basic Statuses Group with Open/Closed.  I noticed that when they are editing entries it is changing the status to CLOSED which makes the page go down for all viewers.  What can I do to enable editing for them, but also make sure old version stays up until the save their changes?  Do I need another status?  I have removed the OPTIONS tab from their access, so I would ideally like to automate the process.  I would like to have it so when they are editing teh old page will show until they finish making updates.  Is this possible?  How can I achieve?

Have you set the default status to “open” in channel preferences ?

The page is never updated on front end until they hit save.

I think that one channel was missing having a status group setup so when they edited it, it CLOSED the page as a security measure.  I made sure all channels were a member of a status group with OPEN/CLOSE access so I will see if it fixes it now.
