File Manager confusion

    I’m pretty confused…

Right now when creating an entry and I try to upload a file I get the “File Manager” dialog box.  There is one tab called “Upload File”.  When I try to upload a file I get a permissions error, even though all of the Unix folder permissions are set up correctly.  I go to File Upload Preferences where there are currently no destinations set.  I set up a new destination and then when I go back to the File Manager to upload again I see a new tab for the Upload Destination I just created but the dialog box is completely blank??

    Here are my questions…

1.) Where does File Manager upload to?  I’m assuming the /images/uploads directory?

2.) Am I required to set up an Upload Destination in File Upload Preferences in order to make this tool work?

3.) How come when I create a new Upload Destination all I’m getting is a blank tab in the File Manager dialog box? (see screenshot: http://img525.imageshack.us/i/wygwam.jpg)

Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forums, upshot!

Where does File Manager upload to?

This is configurable in your File Upload Preferences.

Am I required to set up an Upload Destination in File Upload Preferences in order to make this tool work?

Yes, you’ll need to configure your upload prefs.

What version and build of EE are you using? Are you logged in as Superadmin? Are you using mod_rewrite in any way?
