I use the “Save Template as File” feature a lot. In EE 1.6.x, the files could have a .php extension and EE would find and serve them. I’m new to EE 2.0 and it seems that EE will only find templates saved with a .html extension.

in EE 2.0, if I set the template to allow php, even though the template has a .html extension, it still processes the php - so that’s good. My problem is the editor I use (DreamWeaver) color-codes php extension files and I do not want to develop php files with a .html extension and lose the color-coding as it’s VERY helpful for debugging!

    Am i missing something?

    Bruce,

Those pages are still essentially EE webpages which would be considered html when used as a flat file so you will never get a .php flat template file

I don’t know about dreamweaver, but in the text editor I use for my PC called e-editor I can choose the syntax of the template or indeed any file I open so it will be highlighted accordingly
