My apologies to tech support for an email that flipped before completed.so I’ll follow up here.
I am new to EE. I purchased a license, and our web designer has deployed it on Engine Hosting. In the mean time, our web designer has consequently not fulfilled his contract, and we are terminating his contract. I cannot apply the Admin side password and User name to my control panel to fully access my content.I have my regular user ID and Password, but as I understand it no Admin access. Any advice or protocols on this matter are greatly appreciated.

Are you wanting your designer to have access to the forums on your behalf of asking questions? Or are you needing information on how to access your site? I’m not sure how to help you but your designer will need to get you in to your control panel and let you know the account information they set up for you.

For other specific help, all technical support is handled via our forums. For this particular issue the best thing to do is post in the Technical Support forums here:

Please note that to post on the forums you need to be the original purchaser and logged in with the same account used to purchase ExpressionEngine. If you are a developer working for the original purchaser, please register for ExpressionEngine.com and then email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with the license number of the installation you’re working on and your ExpressionEngine.com user name. We will update your account with support access.

I’d also recommend reviewing our Getting Help page for some pointers and a list of resources:

as well as reviewing our Support Policy:

Thank you, and please let me know if you need anything else.

    Welcome to the forums, Beazley66.

I cannot apply the Admin side password and User name to my control panel to fully access my content. I have my regular user ID and Password, but as I understand it no Admin access.

Does that mean you are looking for a way to make your user a Superadmin? What member group does your user belong to?

My guess is that you will have to manually go into the DB and change your member group status to the super admin (PHP my admin) or you could find his user account info in the DB and change his email to your email to reset the password form.  However, if you have never done anything like this. Probably you’re best bet is to bite the bullet and get the guy on the phone and get the login info.

In Short that will be your fastest method to get access if you are unfamiliar with this type of stuff.

Beazley66 - it’s been awhile since we’ve heard from you. Did you get this settled?

    Lisa and Olomana,
Wow, it has been a while! Thankyou,  I did get this resolved. My EE Site is taking a lot longer than I thought, only due to general family “busyness”. Thanks, and sorry for the late reply.
