This happens to me on and off: I can’t log in to an EE control panel in firefox, but I can in chrome. What causes this? How do I fix it?

You may just need to clear your cookies in Chrome..

It’s actually firefox that won’t let me log in. I cleared the cookies, and the cache. STill can’t log in. Any other things to try?

    Hi roryrabbitfield,

Which version of Firefox is this and which FF extensions do you have installed? When you say that this happens on and off, what does mean? Is this only one particular site or does it not work properly across a range of sites? And how often does this occur?

    Cheers

    Firefox 3.6.13

    extensions:
    firebug 1.6.1
    font finder 1.0
    xmarks 3.8.7
    1password for firefox 3, v 3.5.0

I can log into some EE control panels, but not others. When it decides that it won’t let me log into a given panel, that one is usually a problem consistently for a while, but sometimes it can resolve. does this give you any clues?

    Hi roryrabbitfield,

That sounds like it might be some sort of cookie problem with the browser. I know you said that you cleared them but this may be caused by one of the FF extensions. Try to isolate this issue by disabling your FF extensions one by one.

    Cheers

I’m having uneven success with this, but did get into 1 site that was causing a problem by clearing cookies. so, it’s a work in progress.
