    Hi there,

A client of mine would like to have their EE site upgrade from 1.6.x to EE2. In particular they’d like improved entry preview ability. I was wondering if EE2 would give them this out of the box or if I would still need to install a plugin?

    Many thanks,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

Can you elaborate on what your client would like to see? Are you currently using a Live Look template?

    Hi Brandon,

Well they’d like to accurately see what an entry will look like (within a template) - something more than the ‘Preview’ link provides before publishing.

I can see how I use Live Look templates, but does the link for those only appear once you have already published an entry?

I suppose as well they are interested in a visual text editor for posts - does EE2 have an improvement on the EE 1.6.x text editor?

    Thanks Brandon.

    Hi, pieshop -

Yes, Live Look is only after you save the entry, but you can save it as something like “Draft” so it’s not live on the site, only in your live look template.

There is not a built in WYSIWYG editor in EE 2, but there are some fantastic third-party options.

Please post back if you have any other questions.
