    Hi

I want to update an older site from our company.
The EE is now 1.6.8 and I want to update 1.7.0

I dont choose directly 2.x, because of some modules, working only on 1.6.x

If download the 1.7.0 from your website, there is an install instruction, with directs me to a website with install/update instructions. Attention, these instructions are for 2.x updates! Where can I find easily instruction to update 1.6.x to 1.7.x?
I think this is very important!

    are these install instructions, right?

    Hi frankylefteye,

Yes, http://expressionengine.com/legacy_docs/installation/update.html is the correct link for the EE 1.x version update instructions (note “legacy_docs” in the URL). Does that help?

yes it helps! for me it was not a problem to find out the correct update instructions!

but you have to notice, that you refer to: http://expressionengine.com/docs/

In Expression Engine 1.7.0, there is a file called “READ THIS FIRST” and then you get linked to http://expressionengine.com/docs/, where you can not find the site: http://expressionengine.com/legacy_docs/installation/update.html

maybe you should update this, otherwise some usere will follow the update instructions for 2.x, this will get trouble 😉 please correct me if I am wrong.

    Best, Thomas
