    Hi There! Happy New Year folks!

    I am using the following variable:

    {comment_url_title_auto_path}

    which returns this url (a 404 error):

    http://www.eastofthetree.com/index.phpjupiter/

    I changed the .htaccess to hide the index.php

    any suggestions to remedy?

    cheers!

    That variable returns what you have configured in your path settings for that weblog.  I’m guessing all it needs it an edit there to remove the index.php.

    I am using EE 1.6 - perhaps that tag is only for 2.0? I tried the plugin(Lodewijk’s plugin) for find and replace the index.php, but no luck. How would i link directly to the comments for a specific weblog?

    Again, it’s stored in the path settings under Admin - weblog admin - preferences - paths - comments template. Edit the value there to remove index.php and point to the correct template.

    apologies, i cannot find this under admin:

    Admin - weblog admin - preferences - paths - comments template

    only this:

    CP Home -  Admin -  weblog Administration -  Global Section Preferences

    under preferences there are no further options like the ones you listed?

    thanks for your time!!!

    I just have my phone so am just going on memory. Just find the link to edit preferences for a specific weblog, then look for path settings n

    Or, look in the docs for the url_title_path variable instead.

    Well… I figured out just to link to the weblog entry comments by assigning id and noy using any tags like this:

    <a href="http://www.eastofthetree.com/articles/view/jupiter/#comments">http://www.eastofthetree.com/articles/view/jupiter/#comments</a>

    but had no luck with the weblog comment path preferences? using this tag:

    {comment_url_title_auto_path}

    or any of the other EE comment tags. it would just simply link to the top of that weblog entry.

    What i want is simply link directly to the comments (anchor) of a specific weblog from the homepage.

    Perhaps the way i did it is the best way? Perhaps i am not understanding the path settings to the comments for each weblog.

    Hi rjc,

    You can’t use an ID after the path in the weblog path settings because the entry url_title is appended to that path. So, you would have to build this link manually if you want to do that.

    Cheers
