I am unable to access the Admin tab in the CP. I can access certain portions of the CP but some pages go blank.

    Can Access:
    - Certain Templates
    - CP Home
    - Most Entires

    Cannot Access
    - Admin Tab
    - Modules
    - Certain Templates

I am lost here… I have no idea what happened.

A very similar thing happened to me once. Turns out that my /system/expressionengine/controllers/cp/admin_content.php was blank. It hadn’t been uploaded properly. That was for EE2, however.

Thanks Michael… I don’t what the equivalent EE1 file is though.

If a support staff would like me to PM them access, I can do that… You really have to look at the CP to understand the gravity of this problem.

I can’t access anything that would allow me to turn off the site or any other preferences.

Actually: you can disable access the site if you have FTP access. Look in system/config.php for this line:

    $conf['is_system_on'] = "y";

    Set it to ‘n’.

The equivalent file in EE1 is system/cp/cp.admin.php.

You know, it almost sounds like your CP access has been restricted. Like you’re not Super Admin.

    Hi B.J.,

Is this site a new installation or has it been running for a while? Have you recently installed any addons (modules or extensions)?

    Cheers

    Greg

    Hi Greg,

I am taking over the management of this site from another developer. The client has told me the previous developer attempted to install the CartThrob. The CP is either not accessible or appears to cascade within itself… almost like a frame in another frame, etc.

    Hi B.J.,

Can you first try disabling extensions via config.php and let us know if that helps?

What version / build are you currently using? Please upload a fresh set of files, pay special attention to the CP themes. Unless you’re running the very latest build consider upgrading in the process.
