I’m working with my first EE forum, and all’s well except for the inability to turn (link?) an entry into a Forum topic. If you take a look at the image you’ll see that there are no options for which forum to publish to. Thus entering anything and saving/submitting yields no results.

    Does that make sense? Help?

What version and build of both EE and the Forum module are you using?

    Hi dashard,

EE 2.1.2 has now been released along version 3.1.2 of the forum so please upgrade to the latest if you can. Please confirm that as well as having installed the forum module you have also created at least one forum category and created a forum within that category? Also, it looks as though you are using a 3rd party theme (Morphine?). Does the same behaviour occur if you switch the CP theme back to Default, Corporate or Fruit?

    Cheers

I do in fact have a 2 categories and a few forums within. Yes this is Morphine and yes, the first thing I thought of was the theme. Switching back to the Default theme did not fix the issue (yes, refreshed caches, restarted browser, cleaned browser caches, etc.)

Are you suggesting that this is a known issue in EE2.1.0 with Forum Module 3.1.0? If not, then why would upgrading the system (which often, yes often, leads to other problems) be the fix? Is this something that was fixed in 2.1.2?

I did notice the forum version upgrade after my first post. It’s listed as 3.1.2 but only shows 3.1.1 after the update’s complete. Nonetheless, this didn’t fix it.

Simple question: has anyone in support this before? (Can’t believe you haven’t.)
What were the troubleshooting steps that fixed *that* instance?

    Please advise.

If you upgrade the forum you will need to upgrade EE. The same applies if you upgrade EE, you will need to upgrade the forum or you may run into difficulties.

See my attached screenshot. These are the Forum fields you should be seeing. Can you confirm that if you open your toolbar you can see these fields as indicated?

Do you have a custom publish layout saved. Can you remove it and see if it returns your fields?

Simple question: has anyone in support this before? (Can’t believe you haven’t.)

Are you referring to your issue above or your Captcha issue?

What do you have in your template for that form?

What do you have set in your Captcha preferences?
Admin > System Preferences > Captcha Preferences

Can you run our server wizard to see if your server is capable of generating captchas

What are the permissions on your /images/captchas folder?

    Are you using any add-ons?

Is your Captcha issue with the same install of EE as above?
If not what version and build of EE are you using?
