Hi,

All of a sudden on one of my sites, everything is running very slowly. About 30 seconds to load front and back end and the Edit page in the CP won’t even load.

Static site files, FTP, mail and everything else are fine so it’s definitely an EE database issue.

My host says they haven’t changed anything on their end and aren’t having any problems. My other sites which run on EE with them are fine. And I haven’t touched the site in weeks. They suggested I optimize the database but if nothing has been touched and this just started, is that necessary? It’s not something I have done before so I’m a little apprehensive about it. I tried exporting the database through phpmyadmin just to back it up and it just hangs when I try to export it.

Any ideas what it could be? Thanks!

I’m running 1.6.8 on a Rackspace cloud server.

Hi Sean,

This has come up before and can happen when Rackspace is serving files over NFS - it’s something that is outside of EE’s control, unfortunately. I believe in another thread a server reboot fixed the issue.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it was them. When I first posted a ticket they said nothing was wrong on their end and that I should optimize the database. Then, after a day, they sent me this:
