    Site works fine, but when I set log_threshold to 1

    web server user: www-data:www-data
    file owner: houdini:houdini

    ACL access for main system folder:

    # file: system/
    # owner: houdini
    # group: houdini
    user::rwx
    user:www-data:rwx
    group::r-x
    mask::rwx
    other::rwx
    default:user::rwx
    default:user:www-data:rwx
    default:group::r-x
    default😷:rwx
    default:other::r-x

    ACL access for system/expressionengine/cache:

    # file: sql_cache/
    # owner: houdini
    # group: houdini
    user::rwx
    user:www-data:rwx
    group::r-x
    mask::rwx
    other::r-x
    default:user::rwx
    default:user:www-data:rwx
    default:group::r-x
    default😷:rwx
    default:other::r-x

    I though it’s smth wrong with acl and try set 777 and houdini:www-data access to all files, but same errors.

    There is also have error: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/175659/, when I can not change output profiler and template debugging, they stick to YES.

    Update:
    I can not modify all config files:(

    Thanks

    Houdini,

    What version and build of EE are you using?

    Can you confirm that only the files and folders listed here in Step 4 have the correct permissions please?

    Where did you set the log_threshold?

    Yes, I can confirm that files and folders has correct permission:

    houdini@nginx2:~/www/eedvnews/system$ ls -l expressionengine/config/config.php expressionengine/config/database.php
    -rw-rw-rw-+ 1 houdini houdini 11034 2010-12-12 17:33 expressionengine/config/config.php
    -rw-rw-rw-+ 1 houdini houdini   961 2010-12-12 15:30 expressionengine/config/database.php

    houdini@nginx2:~/www/eedvnews/system$ ls -l expressionengine/cache/
    total 476
    drwxrwxrwx+ 3116 houdini houdini 442368 2010-12-13 13:57 db_cache
    drwxrwxr-x+  8 www-data www-data   4096 2010-12-13 14:02 db_cache_1
    drwxrwxrwx+  2 houdini houdini   4096 2010-12-10 22:14 ee_version
    drwxrwxrwx+  2 houdini houdini   4096 2010-12-10 22:14 expressionengine_info
    -rwxrwxrwx+  1 houdini houdini   114 2010-12-10 22:14 index.html
    drwxrwxrwx+  2 houdini houdini   4096 2010-12-13 06:01 magpie_cache
    drwxrwxr-x+  16 www-data www-data   4096 2010-12-13 14:03 page_cache
    drwxrwxr-x+  2 www-data www-data 12288 2010-12-13 14:03 sql_cache
    drwxrwxr-x+  3 www-data www-data   4096 2010-12-13 14:01 tag_cache

    An addition to this I set up (with flag -R) ACL, so www-data has read and write permissions to all site.

    I notice that I can not modify Captcha settings as well as others.

    UPDATE: I also can not change: Save template as files

    It’s an issue with your cache files. EE (or Magpie, in this case) can’t change permissions as needed. Is this a Windows server?

    It’s ubuntu server.
    What do I need to do?

    UPDATE:
    I just delete all cache and everything is works now.
    So this issue is closed to me:) Thanks.
    By the way I’ll be thankful to you if you could explain what was the reason inside core.

    From the error message, it looked like the cache folders weren’t writable. But in any case, glad the problem appears to be fixed. Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
