    Hey guys,
I’m finally stumped. My employeer recently purchased the EE/MSM 2.0 (under the ‘numark’ account), and I am attempting to get it all setup. I followed the directions in the user guide, but when I go to switch to the newly created site, I am prompted with a login screen that no longer accepts my login details until I clear out my cookies and go back to the main site. I have attempted the various fixes in the troubleshooting article on the wiki, but that article has also not been updated for 2.0 so its not super helpful.
    I am running 2.1.1 build 20100810
    Any help is appreciated.

Hi, Joe. What changes to you have in the index.php file for the second site?

    Hey Sue,
At this point, although i’ve done some things with the index.php on the second site, shouldn’t that be irrelevant in regards to doing a site switch in my main control panel? Unless i’m understanding the setup process wrong.

Anyways, in the new site’s index.php, I changed:

$system_path to the relative path to the original system folder in the main website,
$assign_to_config[‘site_name’] is the shortname of the second website
$assign_to_config[‘cp_url’] is the cp url of the main website
$assign_to_config[‘site_url’] is the url of the second site

Ok, solved it. It was this bug in my build: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/171675/
After updating email_data.php, and recreating my sites, all works as expected.

I’m assuming this was an accidental bug fix, as there was no mention of it in the changelog. It might be helpful to others who use MSM to put a little note in the latest changelog that it fixes this site creation bug.

I didn’t see a bug report listed there.. typically there is a bug report with a fix report in the changelog.. but I’ll mention it to the dev team.
