World Weather Plug-in Question

I was wondering if the following is possible.

I would like to include the weather for a specific location on the top of my site.

example: “58 degrees in Dumbo, Brooklyn.”

This looks like an easy feat with the World Weather plug-in. The thing I’m really not sure about is adding a weather icon that dynamically changes to match the current weather conditions.

I would have a set of custom weather graphics. Would I be able to dynamically change these based on the whatever the current weather is?

    Thanks,
    Phil

ExpressionEngine has built in conditional variables for templates. You can read more about them in the User Guide.

You would have to use one of the variables from the plugin to determine which image to display.

I actually haven’t gotten around to experimenting with this yet. I’m new to EE, and I’m just trying to do some due diligence while I develop a roadmap for this site.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I’ll be using it when I get to this, but I’m going to assume that based on what everyone said that it should be possible to do what I want.

I’ll see ya back here if I have any problems.

    Thanks!

Hi Dylan, Thanks for your work on Weathericon. However, I’m having the following issue and couldn’t find much help in the forum.

    The Error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function fetch_param() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/system/expressionengine/third_party/weathericon/pi.weathericon.php on line 168

Any idea how to get around this?

    Cheers, Valon.

    Valon,

At the risk of provoking the EE folks by providing support in the forum, can you post the code you’re using? (We might want to move this over to Devot-ee, lest we get in trouble…)

Which weather station are you trying to query?

    cheers,

    Dylan
