This is a copy of my email sent to EE Sales staff but I would like also to hear some community opinions before:

    hello,

I’m developing sites based on CI for some time and recently I had started designing application which will allow users to add some products, discuss about them, rate them, comment etc… I would like to make top ratings, many search filters, connect products to certain users - not only to users which added this product but also owners of it.

And my question is - should (or can) I use EE for it? Will I be able to extend it on my own as Im working on code igniter? Im pretty sure that I would make it on CI but I would like to save some time and use core from EE. Is that possible?

Also I would like to have diffrent levels of users like moderators, producers which will be able to advertise their products and manymore.

I know that its doable in CI, but if its a good idea to take core from EE and be able to concentrate on app itself nto about developing other (not crucial) stuff

Since this is not a Pres-Sales question as such. I am going to move this thread to General in a minute. Please don’t hesitate to post again in case you have any more questions.

As you know EE does come with an extensive Member module. You can use set permissions on a per-group level.
