Does EE have an "approval chain"?

We purchased EE based on a demo from a 3rd party developer that showed us a “preview” page and routing functionality.  However, I have not been able to find either.

“Preview” page - all I’ve found in the application is a “preview” button but all it shows is text.  I can’t really see if the page is going to work, or how it’s going to look to the user.  Does anyone know anything about this?  I’ve been told this is custom development.

“Approval chain” - I have not been able to find a way that different users would be given certain pages to work on then once it’s done, send it to the person who has the capability to approve the changes and then publish it.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi, vcom -

The preview can be done with live look in combination with custom entry statuses.

You can use entry statuses to set up a basic workflow as well, and statuses can be restricted per member group.

    Does that help?

It does help, however, I don’t see Channel Administration.  I’ll keep looking.  Thank you.

If you’re on EE 1, look for weblog administration. =)  The CP is quite a bit different. Here are the EE 1 docs.

We’re on EE v1.6.9.  I went through the documents and also looked through weblog administration, unfortunately don’t see it (yet).  I’ll keep looking.

Live Lookup is in Weblog Administration > Weblog Management > edit each weblog’s preferences. =)

Great - thanks!  I did find it.  It’s set to No Live Look Template, but you probably already knew that. When I look at the drop down and there are a bunch of selections.  Would I select one of these, or does a template have to be created for each weblog?

You would likely want to create a template that shows your closed status, or whatever status you created for reviewing posts (draft, under review, whatever you want to name it).  You’ll want to access restrict that template to only those able to review posts.
