The 1.x User Guide http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/content/edit.html states that
Multi-Entry Editing/Deleting works on the Control Panel’s Edit Page: You can shift-select multiple rows.

This functionality works in one EE installation we have which uses 1.6.7.  We have upgraded our main EE instance to 1.6.8, and this functionality no longer works.  When you shift-click on a row, only that row is selected/deselected.

Has this functionality been removed in 1.6.8?  Is it a bug that you can fix?  We have staff members that do extensive data editing through the Edit page.

    Thanks,
    Aharon

    Hi Aharon,

I don’t have access to 1.6.8 install but I can shift click select multiple entries on separate 1.6.9 and 1.70 installs. Are you in a position to upgrade to the latest version (which is a recommended update)? On the 1.6.8 site do you have any extensions installed that may be affecting the CP javascript? Can you see any JS errors in Safari Inspector or Firebug in Firefox?

    Cheers

    Greg

This is an old thread but gains new relevance with v. 2.2.1. Although I never used it myself, users are telling me they were able to shift-click to select multiple entries as late as v 2.1.x—but can no longer do it in 2.2.1 Was that intentional, or is there a way to enable it?

    Hi, BradK.

I too can not shift-click with EE 2.2.2, or with 2.1.3. I’ll have to take your word for it that it worked for earlier versions. It does work with EE1.7.1.

Reported it as a bug here: https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/16377/
