    Hi there !

What would be the best way to create a cart system in EE2 ?

Do I need a plugin ? Can I do it with what I have in EE ?

    Thanks

    William

    Hi William,

EE comes with it’s own VERY basic Ecommerce Module, ‘Simple Commerce’. In a nut-shell, this enables you to turn channel entries into products, and ONLY uses PayPal for payment.

Depending on what you are looking to sell, it may do the job. You can also use some of the PayPal features to create a cart…

However, it might be worthwhile investing in a full blown EE Extension, such as CartThrob, http://cartthrob.com/

This is a full-blown ECommerce solution for EE, and after looking around for a while myself, seems to be the best-in-breed.

Not used it myself, but will be using it shortly for an events booking site.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the assist, Anthony.

Unfortunately CartThrob isn’t available for EE2 quite yet, but there are lots of people waiting on it. 😊

    trenkwill, Does that help?

Very good. Seeing as this clears things up for I am closing this thread. Please do not hesitate to post again in case there’s anything else.
