File Manager from entry form not showing all images consistently

    Hello,

I’ve noticed a strange thing when using the file manager pop-up from a custom field in an entry form.

Usually, when it pops up and I select an image directory, it’s missing a lot of images from that directory. For example, in the bottom ‘white dot’ pagination, I’ll only see 2 rows of white dots. When I close the file manager pop-up, and refresh the form page, then pop file manager up again, there will be three rows of dot pagination (all of my images from that directory). Sometimes, it loads with only two rows, and I click on one dot, and the rest just pop-in. I’ve got around 1200 images in that directory.

It has same behavior in Safari, Chrome, and FF. Any ideas why this would happen?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi, Steven.
Have you seen EEWiki:// How to Post a Support Request?

Which build/version of EE2.x are you using? You can find that at the bottom of any control panel page.

Have you seen: EEWiki:// HowTo Determine Memory Limits

    -and-

    EEWiki:// HowTo Override Memory Limitations

How much memory is allocated to PHP?

How did you load the images in the folder initially?

    Hi Sue,

Sorry I’ll check that wiki BEFORE I post next time.

    EE Version: v2.1.0
Memory limit: 64mb, local and master.

I’m on EngineHosting. I disabled extensions (the only one is SafeCracker SAEF), with the same result.

The images were all loaded in via File Manager, either directly from under the Content tab, or from entry pages, or from a Safecracker SAEF.

    Thanks!

    Steven

I’m wondering if 1200 images are too many for 64M. Would it be possible to test with about 500 instead? I know that’s not an ideal solution, but it’s something to try.

    Hi,

I’m currently having the same problem with about 75 images in one folder, and about 5 to 10 images are missing, only in the popup, not in the file manager.

I’m on 2.1.3 build 20101220, also using msm.

    Hi humanequation,

How much memory do you have assigned to PHP in your installation? Are the missing images different in any way to the ones that are displayed? Are they a particular file type or over a particular size?

    Cheers

    Greg
