I just installed a fresh copy of 1.7 and the theme for the control panel isn’t getting picked up. I tried doing what the FAQ documentation said to do but that doesn’t work. It asks you to make sure the default.css is in the right place and the accompanying images folder is present. Then it also asked you to move the cp_themes folder to the system directory. That did not work either. Any ideas on how to solve this?

I figured out what was wrong. When I followed the instructions for uploading the files, I changed the upload method from Auto to Ascii or Binary. Depending on what I was doing. When i reupload using Auto, everything is fine and the files come in. Looks like I was uploading the images folder within CP themes as ASCII instead of Binary. Auto seems to do the trick.
