    Is there a way to embed profile pages within a template like we can with the forum module?

    something like:

    {embed:page_head}
    {exp:profile}
    {embed:page_footer}

    I know I could do this with Solspace User, but would like to save the cash if possible.

    I have a dynamic header and footer that will be used for all of my site and forum pages. I’d like to only have to update it once.

    I’ve tried this with the following approach and thought to myself, “Wow, this is going to work!” - but, it doesn’t!

    {embed:page_head}
    {exp:member:manager}
    {embed:page_footer}

    I’m not sure why this wouldn’t be possible, could be just a matter of creating a new method for the member class. Has anyone had any success doing this?

    Are you on EE 1 or EE 2, swatkins?  If on EE 2, the member profile pages are run through the primary template parser already, so you’re free to use EE tags in there as needed.  See the Agile Member Theme as an example.

    Hi Lisa,
    I’m on EE2. Wow, that was easy. I never even thought to add the embed tags in the .html files for the profile theme. That makes it really easy! Thanks!

    My pleasure, Scott!  That was one of my favorite EE 2 changes, actually. =)
