I’m in the process of developing a Channel to enter soccer matchdates. It’s a supporters-page for the northern german soccer club “HSV”.

My customers want a game-schedule in the sidebar with the clubs emblem or flag or whatever.

Since it’s a HSV fanpage one of the teams playing will always be HSV obviously. No problems here. Now I have created a dropdown menu with all the possible opponents. I want this work as this:

    • The customer enters the matchdates weeks or months in advance (whenever the schedule for the season comes out).
    • He enters the date and time and chooses the opponent from the drop-down.

But how can I bind the appropriate graphic of the emblem to the opponent? I know there are custom-graphics for categories but the category function is already used for something else in this case and even if not it just doesn’t feel right. Any ideas?

    Thanks and regards, Marc

I’d setup a separate channel for your opponents and make a relationship field for that dropdown, that way you have all the flexibility you need. You could easily add a logo per opponent with a customfield in your “opponent” channel.

Thanks e-man, I’ll checkt that out. Haven’t used relationships yet but could be the right time now. In the meantime I added a file field and a custom upload location which seems to be working fine - but well, yeah your idea might still be better. Thanks.
