New, sudden problems with site

We really feel like we should know how to fix this kind of thing by now, but we’ve looked at everything we can think of and called the host and we’re still stuck.

Our site, http://www.shotwellcompany.com, shows just a white, blank page. If you go to the index template of the site, http://www.shotwellcompany.com/shot/ you’ll get the homepage. Some pages work from there, some don’t.

We didn’t change a single setting. The only thing that was changed on the site last week was that we added a blog post.

I was just experimenting with adding the template group and template to the path.php file and now it’s working.

Why would EE not be reading the default template group and template anymore?

Our contact page is doing the blank white page thing now though:

I turned on template and mysql debug info and see nothing suspicious there.

Let’s have you get rid of your .htaccess file for now so that things work with the index.php file in them. We don’t directly support removing the index.php file via .htaccess.

    Hi Sue,
Sorry, I forgot to mention we ended up doing exactly that (makes sense of course). We ended up in the same place. It wouldn’t read the index.php file either. We seem to be good now, with the template group and template specified in the path.php file…

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Tyler

    Tyler,

Not quite sure what happens but glad editing the path.php worked which is a perfectly acceptable solution. Do you want to explore this further?
