I have an EE 1.6 installation on PHP 4.1.2, mysql 3.23.58.  I am trying to port it to a new installation with mysql 4.1.22 and php 4.3.9.

I am getting screens with no CSS in the style tags.  For example, my admin screen is without formatting and layout.  I’m able to change template data, however.  I think I have isolated the problem away from mysql because I can point my new installation towards the old database and still get the problem.  If I do a clean installation, I don’t get the issues.

Any ideas why this could be happening?  We’re using the same base URL for the new and old server (we use the firewall to switch back and forth).  So, I did not run the SQL update/replace calls because the URL didn’t change.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

    Hi, bria2.

Did you remember to FTP up the /themes folder?

    Sue,

I did have the themes folder.  I found some tips after searching for a while.  One was to move the cp_themes folder over to system.  Another was that some of my permissions on my images needed resetting.  And a third was that I had forgotten some of the new modules and extensions I had installed.

I assumed the problem was converting from mysql 3.23 to 4.3.9.  When I exported the 4.3.9 data, the file was much smaller than the original 3.23 dump file which confused me (thinking that the data did not import properly).  I guess 4.3.9 is just more efficient.

    Thanks,
    Mike
