I’m wanting to use some third-party modules with EE that only run on PHP 5 and my host is running PHP Version 4.3.9.

If I have them upgrade to PHP 5 is there a chance that anything in EE is going to get messed up? I already have EE installed and have a lot of posts. Or is it usually a pretty smooth transition?

    Thanks.

If the rest of your environment doesn’t change I don’t expect any major issues. EE can work certainly with PHP 5 without any problems. Just make a backup of your database (always a good idea) and give it a try.

Glad to hear it! Oh, and welcome to the EE community. Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
