I’m considering EE for a site that will be selling digital subscriptions and downloads. I know that EE supports member group assignment upon purchase which is great but does it also support automated account expiration handling… where memberships are automatically terminated after expiring??

    Thanks

    Hi, Efrain -

This would be something handled by your ecommerce system.  For instance, the Simple Commerce module in EE 2 supports recurring subscriptions.  In EE 1, you would use something like FoxEE for this, and the handling would be done in that add-on.

    Does that help?

    Thanks Lisa,

Yes this helps. The site I’ll be working on will be selling software and will also be offering free yearly updates for it. So I guess the only way to acomplish this without any third party add-on is to offer the updates as a separate store item using recurring subscriptions… right???

Yes, that sounds like the way to go. This would require some custom code, either way; there’s nothing built into EE to do just that, I am afraid.

    Good morning.

We’ve created 2 sites now using the Module Membrr (http://www.membrr.com/)

It works great for subscription management.

I’m on a rush right now, but please take a look !
