Has anyone experienced an undesired control panel logout issue with version 1.6.9? We just moved a site from a dev site to our client’s server. Since the move we’re experiencing issues with undesired logging out when going to submit a new entry or edit an old entry. We can get the information into the form, however upon clicking submit the page processes to the login screen and all info entered is lost.

The odd thing is this is only happening IE7 & 8 not firefox on a PC and not Safari or Firefox on a Mac.

Could this be a server issue? Is there a setting that may need to be adjusted that could be causing the problem? I don’t believe it’s a timeout issue because it only happens in certain browsers, however this is completely out of my knowledge level and I haven’t seen anyone with a similar issue.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Through some advice I was given on another forum I was able to update my Security and Session Preferences to be Cookies only and that seems to work and not cause any other issues for now.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue before? Is there a more elegant solution?

    Thanks,

    Greg

    Greg,

It may have been down to a combination of things. Personal browser settings, your hosting, your connection etc. Your IP may have been changing frequently which may have led to sessions being a problem

It is a quite acceptable solution to use Cookies.

    Does that help?
