Is Categories the best solution for this?

I have a new client who wants a content-managed intranet. One of the features they need is a place where someone can choose one of their brands from a drop-down menu or through a search and go to a page with all the related materials for that brand. I’m thinking that assigning categories to every entry based on the brand would work. The drop-down could lead to a category page that displays all the related entries. Does that sound like the best approach, or would there be a better way to handle this?

That would seem a logical way forward. Using categories would also allow you to associate other content that uses the same category group.

Thanks! That’s what I was thinking - just wanted to make sure it was the best route.

I would agree for what you are trying to do categories seem like the best option. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
