I have uploaded a load of PNGs with transparent backgrounds via FTP to my site’s default file upload directory. When I view this directory in the default EE2 file manager, it generates the thumbnails but the transparent backgrounds are black and therefore make the images unviewable, see screenshot below:

The images that you can actually see in the screenshot have white background so they’re fine, it’s the ones with the transparent backgrounds that are just black.

Is this a bug? Can it be fixed? Or is this just a limitation of the default file manager?

I’m not certain if this is considered a bug or a limitation to CI’s code base. I did manage to find a bug report that sounds similar.

Thanks for your quick reply. I did the suggested fix and it worked. I had to delete the generated thumbnail folder first to clear out the old (black) thumbnails.
