What does member management actually entail?

    Hi guys!

I’m used to using a CMS that has a diverse set of user types, whereby I can restrict access within the control panel based on user type.

As an example, even WordPress has a good selection of user types (Admin, Editor, Contributor etc) and I was wondering if ExpressionEngine has the same thing.

I ask because I can’t find any mention of this, nor can I find any such options within the ExpressionEngine control panel itself.

If this was WordPress, I’d make some of the staff Contributors, with more senior staff members being Editors, while I remain Admin.

At some point, the client may need access and I really don’t want them to be an administrator, for obvious reasons.

ExpressioneEngine uses member groups, yes. You can then easily decide what permissions to give to which group.

Hi Ingmar, do you have any documentation on this, which I can read?

I couldn’t find those options for love nor money! Mike, thanks again.
