For some reason my templates stopped getting written out as files.

The Basepath to Template File Directory seems to be set correctly. If I create a template in a new template group, the subdirectory for the template group gets created, but no file gets created.

I made the directory chmod 777 to rule out a permission issue.

This used to work just fine, but I haven’t been able to narrow down what might have changed to cause this to break.

I’m on EE 1.6.9 Build 20100430.

Appreciate any tips on how to narrow this down.

Does that mean it had worked before and suddenly stopped, without you changing anything on the server? If so, perhaps your host did? Have you asked them about it?
